The Client

Super League is a media activation company connecting brands with gaming culture through its proprietary Play Intelligence Engine. The platform unites audience insights, creative, and distribution to activate campaigns across Roblox, Fortnite, mobile, and connected TV, reaching a global gaming population of 3.5 billion for brands worldwide.

Project Description

Super League needed to scale its engineering capacity without slowing down delivery. UPDOT® stepped in by embedding three engineers directly into Super League's team, working under the client's technical direction across backend development, Payload CMS configuration, and API integrations. Together, they built out core platform capabilities, including campaign and gaming-experience management, role-based permissions, secure API-key authentication, and a token-protected partner portal for sharing campaign assets and integration information. The scope also covered quests, rewards, promotional codes, player progression, and reporting dashboards, all designed to stay simple enough for non-technical operations teams to manage on a day-to-day basis.

The Challenge

The Challenge

  • Managing campaigns across multiple organizations, gaming experiences, and external partners within one secure, scalable system
  • Unifying campaign data, integration assets, player progression, promotional codes, rewards, and analytics into a single ecosystem
  • Enabling granular role-based permissions across teams and user types
  • Supporting secure API authentication for connected experiences
  • Providing partner-specific access controls
  • Delivering flexible, reliable reporting across high-volume engagement data
  • Keeping all of the above manageable for non-technical operations teams
  • Building a foundation that supports future platform expansion
The Solution

The Solution

To meet these challenges, UPDOT® embedded three engineers within Super League's team, working under their technical direction to build and extend a multi-tenant platform on Payload CMS, Next.js, PostgreSQL, and Tinybird. The engineers focused on campaign and gaming-experience management, role-based permissions, and secure API-key authentication, while also delivering a token-protected partner portal for sharing campaign assets and integration information. Beyond this, the team built out quests, rewards, promotional codes, player progression, and telemetry ingestion, alongside reporting dashboards spanning campaign performance, engagement, audience, loyalty, and financial metrics, each engineered to stay simple for non-technical operations teams while remaining scalable as the platform grows.
