Customer

This case study outlines the successful development of a web application for Dumsafar. Dumsafar is the sister brand of Barbeque Nation, a renowned casual dining chain with multiple branches across the country. They sought to enhance their online presence and provide customers with a smooth ordering experience.

Requirements

  • The main objective was to build a robust e-commerce platform that could handle tremendous traffic spikes from scratch.
  • Incorporate a Content Management System (CMS) to allow the client to update menus, promotions, and other website content easily.
  • Ensure cross-platform compatibility, responsiveness, and optimal performance on various devices and browsers.

Challenge

This project required us to intensively plan and execute every aspect, from designing an intuitive user interface to developing a solid backend that would spontaneously accommodate Dumsafar’s ever-growing customer base. The challenge extended to automating customized offerings for diverse geographic regions across India and maintaining steady functionality even during peak hours.

Approach

In the initial phase, our team collaborated closely with the client to understand their vision, target audience, and specific functional requirements. Extensive discussions were held to identify key features, design preferences, and technical considerations. The team created a visually appealing and intuitive website design that aligned with the client's brand image using a tool called figma. With a stipulated round of revisions, screen by screen designs were done and prototyped. Modern UI/UX principles were employed to ensure seamless navigation, clear calls-to-action, and optimal user engagement. The website was developed using Next Js. for front end and Drupal for both back end and CMS. The idea was to opt for a decoupled solution where the front-end and back-end was connected by Rest APIs. Rigorous testing was conducted to ensure the website's functionality, performance, and compatibility across various devices and browsers. In the UAT round, we collaborated with the client for feedback and incorporated the same into the iterative development process. The website was hosted and deployed on AWS with adequate security measures. The development team provided comprehensive training to the client's staff, enabling them to manage and update website content through the implemented CMS.

Result

We were able to build a scalable web application that could handle 25,000 to 50,000 traffic and data flow at its peak time without any breakage or delay. The intuitive interface, seamless navigation, and responsive design garnered positive feedback from website visitors, resulting in longer average session durations and lower bounce rates. The client experienced sustained growth in online orders and the website served as a valuable marketing tool, attracting new customers and generating repeat business.
